“She opens the door and smiles….Welcome to the Wishing Well, where Gabi Schoening has created a sacred space in which to conduct her practice.rose garden 046

The moment is calm and I hold no expectations of any experience I might have here and have left my wishes at home.

Schoening, who has worked as a child and family therapist on Whidbey Island for a number of years, has me sit in a chair and then she sits down herself. She asks me questions, like “What do you hope to get out of the experience?” and “How are your relationships?”

“Questions can open doors and they can lead to building rapport,” she said. “The answers can lead to new questions, which open more doors. I want to get to know the people I am working with and I want to know what I might be able to help them with.”

For Schoening,  there is a moment when she asks no more questions and begins her work.

“I follow my intuition and interest. At some point in a conversation, I am usually inspired to switch to matrix,” she said. “That is usually when I feel, now I understand something about the person I didn’t know before and begin to understand an underlying pattern that is causing distress for the person.”

Schoening then goes to to a place in consciousness where that problem does not exist or she looks for any place on the body that feels rigid or stuck.

“The important thing is that I am inspired and trust that inspiration,” she said. “And that is what makes this work fun too. Seemingly absurd things can be very meaningful because they hold a subconscious message. Seemingly absurd questions can lead to just the door you needed.”

Schoening hopes to grant clients’ wishes through Matrix Energetics, and thus, the words Wishing Well works well for her.

“The wishing well is a symbol for the magical powers of our subconscious mind,” she said. “In fairy tales, there is often a well that is whispering knowledge from a different realm to the seeker. Sometimes faeries, angels or ancestors come to assist him or her. For me, this is an image for the magical transformations that I have seen happening with Matrix Energetics.”

So what is Matrix Energetics?

It is a system of healing, self-care and transformation, said Matrix

Energetics founder Dr. Richard Bartlett on his Web site

www.matrixenergetics.com.

“It is a transferable and teachable phenomenon, powered by intent, which has a physical and observable effect every time,” he said. “Matrix Energetics sometimes appears magical in its expression but is based on the laws and expression of subtle energy physics and the concepts and laws of quantum physics, superstring theory and Sheldrake’s Morphic Resonance.”

The idea behind Matrix Energetics is that we are made of energy, which exists simultaneously in wave form and particle form. Patterns within this energy field develop over time.

Some energy patterns do not serve Schoening’s clients, she said. These people come to her with a desire to change their lives.

“The basic technique in Matrix Energetics is called a two-point,” she said. Sometimes people come when they feel stuck or hopeless, she said.

“For example, after a divorce people often struggle for years with feelings of loss, anger or low self esteem. Usually they continue functioning on the outside, but deep inside something still feels ‘broken’,” Schoening said. “They might say ‘Life goes on, I am over it’. If this is only a protective statement and not entirely true, something will energetically contradict their words. I am picking up sensations and feelings from within. At times I literally feel the client’s energy in my own body, for example in my throat, heart or solar plexus.”

Sometimes, Schoening feels a kind of pain that tells her about a trauma, important experience or feeling the client had.

“At times, I get information also by sounds, color, words, thoughts and even songs,” she said. “I also pay attention to serendipitous experiences and ask how these might be related to my client’s experience. I just use them as additional information, knowing that we are all energetically connected with our environment.”

“The matrix techniques allow old energy patterns to collapse at the quantum level,” she said. “The previously “stuck” photons now are free to move around into a new and more useful outcome. In my work, I will respond to and work with this energy, so that that part that was contradicting the conscious mind can have it’s transformation too.”

The client is free to enjoy new hope and new experiences, Schoening said.

“In my work, I provide sacred space for transformations to occur,” she said. “I am a facilitator between the seen and unseen realms. With the consent of the client, I call upon the assistance of energetic frequencies, angels, ascended masters and spirit guides.  I am not the doer but the door.”

For Schoening, Matrix Energetics is about helping a client to change their personal status quo.

“It’s opening up new ways of thinking and feeling for them. The change occurs at the quantum level, where we are only light and information,” she said. “The photons can rearrange themselves into new energy patterns according to our intent.”

Schoening is thankful for her Matrix Energetics experiences.

“It’s been a gift and an enrichment. I am happy to share it with people. Usually people leave much happier than when they came in,” she said.

child and family therapist on Whidbey Island. She also is a certified Ayurveda practitioner.

And what I discovered through Schoening’s energy work is that I have some work to do around the idea of forgiveness.
