If Life gives you lemons you are very blessed! Make lemonade!

With so many people coughing or sneezing at this time of year it is important to take care of our health. I have studied Ayurveda (Ayurvedic Science of Health and was always fascinated with the multiple uses of plants. I grew up in Germany where house remedies get passed down many generations. And yes, in German pharmacies when I grew up you could buy loose herbs. Lavender blossoms, elder berries, chamomile and many others, kept in jars. The pharmacist would help you decide what you might need and tell you how to brew a tea. When my sisters and I got sick my mother made us a hot lemonade. That is what I did for my own 3 children when they grew up and that is what I do for myself. Here are some potent recipes that are my personal blend of Ayurvedic wisdom and German house remedies. Each health drink will cost you pennies. Garlic and turmeric are natural antibiotics! Lemons are natural Vitamin C, more fun and less expensive. Here are several variations of a basic recipe depending on your needs.
